At Karahi Point, you eat from the iron pot in which the dish is prepared. Authentic chicken karahi, pictured right here.

A new restaurant in Waterloo guarantees to purvey Pakistani flavor like none different inside the tri-metropolis area.

“We prepare dinner within the pot, and we serve within the pot,” explained Faisal Shoaib, co-franchisee at Karahi Point that opened recently inside the Parkside Business Campus — the eighth area for the logo, but the first out of doors the GTA.

Shoaib said the menu is baked in subculture from his local Pakistan, noting that most dishes in Canada typically come served on plates or platters which are extraordinary from what they’re cooked in.

A karahi, a Hindi word that means pot, is used to prepare various Pakistani dishes inclusive of curries and stews.

“When you cook in high flames, many things, which includes spices and flavors, will stick, so people generally consume within the iron pots, not on plates,” Shoaib defined.

The mouth-watering taste created with spices and substances along with ginger-garlic paste, ghee, green chilies, diced vegetables, and tomato sauce remains simmering as it's served to dine-in clients.

“Back domestic, in Pakistan, we don’t use plates,” Shoaib said. “When we order karahi, it will be available in this pot, and we eat from there and dip it inside the bread. That’s the concept.”

More than 15 distinctive versions of signature karahi appear on the menu, primarily based on the recipes of Momma Mumtaz Appa, which had been brought to Ontario by her son, Adil Iqbal, Karahi Point’s CEO and a chum of Shoaib’s businesses accomplice, Abbas Raza
